Ventnor Blog provides about 17,000 visitors a week with up to the minute news, reviews, events listings, beautiful photos, art, music, anything of interest in the Ventnor area, as well as the rest the Island.
The Ventnor Blog Forum is very popular, there are 8 main sections:-
General Chat has a huge range of topics; Education Reforms; Planning Peculiarities; Ventnor Future – Five Year Plan; The Arts; Disability Issues; Free Ads – for sale, wanted, freebies; Candidates Corner provided unparalleled coverage of the recent local council election, which I think was responsible for a higher than average turnout at the polling station. As with all forums far more people read it than contribute, if you want to join us and have never participated in a forum before there is an excellent FAQ which will help you register and answer any questions you may have.
I cannot understand why other towns on the Island do not have their own blogs, how do they manage without one? Although it is hard to imagine any being as successful as Ventnor Blog which is all down to the hard work of Simon & Sal, with some input from readers.
We would have probably got the Ventbag project launched on our own eventually but in months rather than the days that it took due to Ventnor Blog, Ventbag would like to thank Ventnor Blog for the amazing support that they have given to us.
Rapanui – The Green Clothing Company
Rapanui began life when two young surfing brothers set about ceating a 100% sustainable brand. For 2008, Rapanui provides a range of functional surfwear made from eco-friendly’ green’ fabrics. We also use renewable energy to power our manufacture and pay a fair price for our materials in our ‘total’ approach to sustainability.
Our manufacturing facility recently gained a full Fair-Wear Foundation certificate and is currently undergoing licensing by Fair-Trade.
Throughout the product life cycle, environmental impact is minimised, from the design of garments, through manufacture and distribution, focusing on eliminating three major environmental problems: Climate Change, Chemical Pollution and Human Exploitation.
Rapanui wants to inspire all to consider sustainable alternatives. The unique power of fashion can be used to create positive change, so Rapanui offers just that; the opportunity to extend green values into the clothes we wear and the products we buy.
